The client’s brief was to convert an old building in Maroochydore, Queensland, into a vibrant, light-filled childcare centre.

Accommodating 97 children, the centre was designed around ensuring that all learning and play rooms have direct access to the generous yard, playground, and alfresco dining area. The centre has a strong nature-based focus, with plenty of opportunity for children to interact with the natural environment. The design incorporates natural materials throughout, while enormous windows flood the centre with light and maximise views of outside.
